Description: CHESAPEAKE, Va. - In the crowd of grateful Americans gathered at the Veterans Memorial in front of Chesapeake City Hall, was the father of a fallen war hero and a veteran himself, Carl Dozier. His son, Staff Sergeant Jon Dozier was killed in Iraq last January. "John died with five of his brothers-in-arms and a young Iraqi interpreter," Dozier told a crowd of about 200 gathered at the ceremony. "Young men who grew up in our community and silently went off to war and never came home. Their families are left with a hole in their heart that will never heal." The Dozier family, thankful for the service and the sacrifice of their son and all other fallen service members, they purchased, dedicated and unveiled a Soldier's Cross to the citizens of Chesapeake that now sits in front of City Hall. It bears a picture of their son and the names of his brothers who died with him.
