Typhoon Morakot in Taiwan

Description: On the 7th of August 2009, TYPHOON MARAKOT made landfall over Hualien city on the east coast of Taiwan. Although the typhoon's wind stregnth was not strong or sustained enough to cause widespread damage, the typonn related rains caused serious flooding and landslides across much of the island. Storm chaser James Reynolds intercepted the eyewall of the storm.
