Race riots in Birmingham, UK

Description: Ninety people were arrested following clashes between right-wing protestors and anti-fascist campaigners in Birmingham on Saturday 5th September. A group called the English Defence League, which said it was protesting against Islamic extremism, was met with a counter demonstration. Police said rival gangs had hurled abuse and missiles at each other near the city's main shopping areas. The arrested are aged between 16 and 39 and offences include criminal damage.
