I expect that most Gazan farmers don't have someone videotaping them. And they don't have an English speaking woman with a megaphone. Of course if I were going to try to communicate with Israelis I would try to speak Hebrew. If I were making a propaganda film for the American market, I would speak English.
It seems like it could be staged, however, if legitimate, I can't say I'm terribly surprised. I do not, and most likely will never, understand the trillions of dollars "lent" to Israel for foreign aid.
Either the woman with the megaphone is incredibly brave and/or foolhardy or she knows she is safe and the footage is fake. Nobody appears panicky or frightened, hardly even a raised voice, weird.
So what,..When the Palestinians get serious about peace their life just might be worth something other than bullet fodder..I would've shot all of them including the IHRA idiots taunting the Israeli army
This is obviously a fake. If they were really shooting from that range, which is approx. 800 ~ 1000 metres, you would first see a person get hit and then hear the shot. The sound of the gunshot was edited in later or someone was shooting a rifle in the air at close range to the camera. Also, we never see the actua l person who was shot dead. If it weren't for the title and the introduction you'd make nothing of this movie. Come on people, start believing what you see & hear, not what's being told to believe...
staged or not staged, who knows, its just like anything else on mainstream media. cant believe any organisation to be honest, so why complian about this one so much. just look at the stuff coming out of fox news in the states! You should make your own judgements and not complain. To me this looks quite genuine to be honest, dont know what all the fuss is about.
I'm not trying to defend anyone or say this is not true, but just pointing out how you need to use your judgement when viewing videos such as this. There is no clear evidence that anyone was shooting or shot in this. Sound effects can easily be added. The soldiers may actually have been firing, but at someone else, and the farmers were diving for cover just from the sounds of gunfire. Nothing in this video conclusively shows that they were being fired upon. It may be true, but please use a cautious eye when viewing/reading anything on the web - don't immediately assume it is truth just because someone said so.
wouldn't it be nice if we could just blink large groups of people out of existence? ahhh, if only.. just be glad you weren't born over there in that mess
Wow amazing that your workers just happened to be there at the right time. Funny you should work on the sound effects. haven't quite got it right. Wonder how many will believe this propaganda.
after watching this i dont believe the jews need a homeland supported by america. after all jews werent the only ones killed in world war 2 so why cry for them. now theyre just militant extremists. jewish terrorists.
Just a thought. If this is in israel, why are the activists trying to communicate in english with the military? Wouldn't it be pretty annoying having strange new people shouting out commands in a completely different language trying to tell you what to do? They probably are as skilled in as I am in hebrew and arabic.
"Palestinian" crimes DO appear on networks. The difference is that this is the first time Israel is coming under scrutiny, and they're highly organized, and dropping white phosphorous on children. Israel is killing way more people.
for all of those that think this is fake here is the originial article

lol what? Are you people that removed from reality not to distinguish truth from act? Who the hell uses a megaphone while standing up in the middle of an open field while being shot at?
Description:
Israeli Military Shoot Gaza Farmer - 18th February 2009
Israeli forces shot a twenty year-old Palestinian farmer as he worked his land in the village of Al-Faraheen, east of Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip.
International Human Rights Activists were accompanying the group of farmers at the time as they worked approximately 500m from the Green Line.
Mohammad al - Breem, 20, was shot in the right leg as the farmers, together with the international Human Rights Activists, attempted to leave the area having worked on their land for 2 hours in full view of the Israeli forces situated along the Green Line.
As the farmers were loading up the parsley and spinach from the agricultural lands shots were fired from Israeli forces on the border. Mohammad was shot in the right leg and evacuated, while still under fire, to hospital.
International Human Rights Activists have repeatedly witnessed Palestinian farmers being shot at by Israeli forces as they attempt to work on agricultural land situated within 700m of the Green Line.
On Tuesday 27th January 2009, in Al Faraheen, Israeli forces shot at several farmers, killing a 27 year old farmer.
